The Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) presents different models of food policies, many of which are yet to be put in place.
There is however, a proposed Food Security and Nutrition Strategy for CPLP countries (ESAN-CPLP) that tries to aggregate common concerns around the:
- Strengthening governance of food security and nutrition.
- Promotion of access and use of food to improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable groups.
- Increased domestic food availability based on the development and promotion of small farmers and fishermen, by promoting sustainable production models and expanding local diets.
